【摘要】:Rupturelifeofnotchedspecimensisanindicationoftheabilityofamaterialtodeformlocallywithoutcrackingundermulti-axialstressconditions,therebyredistributingstressesaroundastressconcentrator.Thenotchtestisusedprincipallyasaqualitativetoolincomparingthesuitabilityofmaterialsfordesignsthatwillcontaindeliberateoraccidentalstressconcentrators.1.1Thesetestmethodscoverthedeterminationofthetimeforruptureofnotchedspecimensunderconditionsofconstantloadandtemperature.Thesetestmethodsalsoincludestheessentialrequirementsfortestingequipment.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Theunitsinparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
