【摘要】:1ThisInternationalStandardspecifiesamethodfordeterminingthewettingtensionofsurfacesofplasticfilmandsheetingincontactwithdropsofspecifictestsolutions.2Theabilityofplasticfilmstoretaininks,coatings,adhesives,etc.,isprimarilydependentonthecharacteroftheirsurfaces,andcanbeimprovedbyoneofseveralsurface-treatmenttechniques.Thesesametreatmenttechniqueshavebeenfoundtoincreasethewettingtensionofaplasticfilmsurfaceincontactwithmixturesofsolvents.Itisthereforepossibletorelatethewettingtensionofaplasticfilmsurfacetoitsabilitytoacceptandretaininks,coatings,adhesives,etc.Themeasuredwettingtensionofaspecificfilmsurfacecanonlyberelatedtoacceptableink,coating,oradhesiveretentionthroughexperience.Wettingtension,initself,isnotacompletelyacceptablemeasureofink,coatingoradhesiveadhesion.3Anycontaminationofthefilmsurfaceandanytraceofsurface-activeimpuritiesintheliquidreagentsmayaffectthewettingtension.Itisthereforeimportantthattheportionofthefilmsurfacetobetestedisnottouchedorrubbed,thatallequipmentbescrupulouslyclean,andthatreagentpuritybecarefullycontrolled.Glassapparatus,inparticular,islikelytobecontaminatedwithdetergentshavingverystrongsurfacetensionreducingability,unlessspecificprecautionsaretakentoensuretheirabsencesuchasbycleaningwithanoxidizingagent,forexamplechromic-sulfuricacidorsulfuricacid-ammoniumperoxydisulfate,andrinsingwithdistilledwater.4Thetestisnotapplicablewhenthesurfaceofthematerialtobetestedreactschemicallywiththetestsolution.5Itshouldbenotedthatsurfacepropertiesofplasticfilmandsheetingmaychangebyageingprocesses.Themeasurementsmustthereforeberelatedtotheageofthefilm.
